With the Skyefrog website newly launched I thought I’d write a bit about some of the materials I use. I am particularly keen on Tweed! The Harris Tweed I use is sourced directly from a weaver called Christina on the Outer Hebrides. Also known as the Western Isles and the Long Island, the Outer Hebrides is an island chain 30 miles off the west coast of mainland Scotland. Every single meter is handmade. The loom mechanism is powered by foot and the hands tie, work and repair the cloth as it is being woven. You can check out Christina’s website here. It is of the highest standard and I love working with it. It is ideal for dog collars as it is naturally hard-wearing and moisture resistant. And it looks great too!
